Official Rules
September 15, 2007

PRELIMINARY INFORMATION:  No purchase necessary. Void outside the KNBC/NBC4 terrestrial geographic viewing area and where prohibited.  Do London Like a Local Casting Call Contest (“Contest”) begins on September 15, 2007, at 10:00 A.M. and ends on September 15, 2007, at 2:00 P.M. (“Contest Period”).  All times in the Contest refer to Pacific Time. 

TO ENTER:  To enter, go to the KNBC/NBC4 studios, 3000 West Alameda Avenue, Burbank, CA 91523 on September 15, 2007, between 10:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M. Complete and thereafter submit a registration form, which includes your name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth, and other information.  You must also appear before a panel of judges, answer their questions, and do a mock interview based on an improvised script [could you explain this more, please?  What is an improvised script?  Do you mean improvisation based on a general script?] (“Audition”).  Auditions may be videotaped by Sponsors.  Your registration form and Audition together constitute your entry into the Contest.  All entries become the property of Visit London Ltd.; KNBC/NBC4;and NBC Universal, Inc. (collectively, “Sponsors”); and will not be acknowledged or returned.  

Entrants must arrive at the KNBC/NBC4 studios between 10:00 A.M. and –3:00 pm on September 15, 2007, to be eligible for the Contest. You may enter once during the Contest Period.  Multiple entries received from any person beyond this limit will void all such additional entries.  Entries that are incomplete, garbled, or unintelligible for any reason are void and will not be accepted.  Entry constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use entrant's name, city, state, likeness, image, and/or voice for purposes of advertising, promotion, and publicity without additional compensation. 

 Entrants will have the opportunity to receive information from KNBC/NBC4 and selected partners by checking the appropriate box. If, at any time, you no longer wish to receive materials from KNBC/NBC4, please go to our privacy policy, located at www.knbc.com.

ELIGIBILITY: Open only to permanent, legal U.S. residents with a current U.S. Passport who are located and residing in the KNBC/NBC4 terrestrial geographic viewing area in the counties of Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Orange, Riverside, and Ventura in the state of California and who are eighteen years of age (18) or older as of September 15, 2007.    Officers, directors, agents, and employees of Sponsors, Contest administrator, and prize supplier, and their respective parent, subsidiary, and affiliate companies and their administrative, advertising, and promotion agencies (collectively, “Contest Entities”); members of these persons’ immediate families (spouses and/or parents, children, and siblings, and their spouses); and/or persons living in the same households as these persons (whether related or not) are not eligible to enter the Contest .

WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION: Six (6) entrants will be selected as finalists by a panel of judges (representatives of Sponsors) on or about September 15, 2007, based on each entrant’s Audition.  Sponsors, in their sole discretion, may select fewer than six (6), or no, finalists and/or extend the Contest Period if they determine that an insufficient number of eligible, complete, tasteful, or appropriate entries are received.  Entrants will be judged on the following criteria: personality (20%), presentation skills (30%), ability to speak extemporaneously (20%), and ability to ask pertinent questions during the mock interview (30%). The finalists will then re-appear before the panel of judges, answer additional questions, and do an additional mock interview based on an improvised script (“Final Audition”).  Final Auditions may be videotaped by Sponsors.  Two (2) finalists will then be selected as the winners by the panel of judges on or about September 15, 2007, based on each finalist’s Final Audition.  Finalists will be judged on the same criteria set forth above.    Sponsors will make two (2) attempts to notify winners by phone and/or email.  Each winner may be required to return a completed, signed, and notarized affidavit of eligibility, release of liability, and, except where prohibited, publicity release within five (5) days of such notification.  Noncompliance within this time period will result in disqualification, and an alternate winner may be selected.  If winner cannot be reached, if he/she is found to ineligible, if he/she cannot or does not comply with these Official Rules, or if his/her prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected from the remaining eligible entries.  Limit one prize per family or household.

PRIZE:  There will be two (2) prizes awarded, each consisting of the following: a) round-trip, coach-class airline tickets for winner and a guest from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to London, England; b) hotel accommodations for three (3) nights (one standard room/double occupancy) at a hotel to be selected by Sponsors in their sole discretion; c) ground transportation to and from the London airport; d) a one hundred dollar ($100) stipend; and e) the opportunity to host an episode (“Episode”) of YourLA from London (“Appearance”).  Estimated Retail Value (“ERV”) of each prize is four thousand dollars ($4,000).  Sponsors will furnish an IRS 1099 form to winners for the ERV of the prize for the tax year in which the prize was won.   
Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a similar prize of equal or greater value at their sole discretion.  All taxes and other expenses, costs, or fees associated with the acceptance and/or use of the prize are the sole responsibility of winners. Prize cannot be transferred by winner or redeemed for cash and is valid only for the items detailed above, with no substitution of prize by winner.  If any prize is unclaimed,  the prize will be forfeited and Sponsors may  select an alternate winner from the remaining eligible entries.  If a prize element is not available for any reason, then the remaining elements of prize shall constitute full satisfaction of Sponsors' prize obligation to winner and no additional compensation will be awarded.  

 Travel and hotel arrangements to be determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion.  Trip must be taken on dates and times designated by Sponsors or prize will be forfeited in its entirety and may be awarded to an alternate winner to be selected from the remaining eligible entries.  Once determined, no change, extension, or substitution of the trip date is permitted, except by Sponsors in their sole discretion. Winner and guest must travel together on the same itinerary.
Prize consists only of the elements set forth above.  No other trip or travel elements (including, without limitation, travel to and from LAX, ground transportation in London, insurance, gasoline, meals, gratuities, souvenirs, etc.) are included in the prize.  Airline tickets are valid only for travel on airline chosen by Sponsors in their sole discretion.  Tickets will be issued only to winner and his/her guest.  Tickets are not redeemable for cash and are void if sold for cash or other consideration.  Winner is responsible for any tax liability, including applicable departure taxes or fees, inspection charges, and security charges.  Once issued, tickets are nontransferable and may not be reissued once travel has commenced.  Open tickets may not be issued and stopovers are not permitted.  Certain blackout periods and travel restrictions may apply.  Travel arrangements must be made through Sponsors.  Winner and guest must have valid travel documents (e.g., valid passport) prior to departure.  Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of prize.  Sponsors shall have no responsibility or liability for cancellations, delays, or any other change by any company or person providing any element of prize due to reasons beyond Sponsors’ control, and are not responsible or liable for any expenses incurred as a consequence thereof.  Travel may not be combined with any other offer.  All travel will be at the risk of Winner and Guest.  In the event of an act of God or an unforeseen, uncontrollable event, Sponsors maintain the right to reschedule all travel for a later date.  The U.S. State Department requires ALL international travelers to present a government-issued passport for U.S. Customs re-entry after air, land, or sea travel.  For more information, please visit the State Department's consular website at www.travel.state.gov or the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's website at www.dhs.gov.  If winner chooses to take the trip with no guest, then the remaining elements of the prize shall constitute full satisfaction of Sponsors’ prize obligation to winner and no additional compensation will be awarded.  Winner’s guest, if any, must complete, sign, and notarize a release of liability and, except where prohibited, a publicity release, which must be returned with winner’s Affidavit/Releases, or the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected. If winner’s guest is a minor, winner must be such minor’s parent or legal guardian. 

Appearance has no cash equivalent value.  If the Episode is not in production, if the Episode is pre-empted or cancelled prior to the Appearance, or if any prize element is not available for any reason, then remaining elements of prize shall constitute full satisfaction of Sponsors’ prize obligation to winner and no cash or other additional compensation will be awarded.  The nature of the Appearance will be determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion.  Sponsors are not obligated to have the winner appear on the Episode or to broadcast or otherwise use or exploit the Episode or any part thereof.  

If Sponsors, in their sole discretion, elect to incorporate the audio and video recording (“Recording”) of the Appearance in the Episode, such Appearance and/or Recording will not be considered an employment opportunity, and the winner will not be entitled to compensation or credit therefor.  Should winner fail to appear timely at the Appearance, as determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion, the Appearance may be cancelled and forfeited, or rescheduled, as determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion. No person(s) other than the winner and persons deemed necessary by Sponsors may be present at the Appearance. If the Recording is broadcast, such broadcast will be at a time, for a length of time, and on a date determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion. Winner may be required to complete, sign, and notarize appearance, location, publicity, and prize releases (and such other documents as may be required by Sponsors). Failure of winner to do so in a timely manner, as determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion, may cause disqualification and forfeiture of the prize.The content of the Recording as, and if, finally broadcast and the number of broadcasts and re-broadcasts, if any, thereof will be determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion. Winner will have no right of review, notice, or approval of the content of the Recording or any broadcast thereof.  Sponsors have the right, in their sole discretion, to disqualify the winner, cause the prize to be forfeited, and remove the winner from the Recording at any time, if the winner’s behavior at any point is deemed by Sponsors to be disruptive if it may or does cause damage to any person or property, or the reputation of Sponsors, if it otherwise violates the policies of the Sponsors, or if winner does not follow the directions of Sponsors at all times.  These Official Rules and the Contest itself are not a contract or application for employment. 
 
CONDITIONS: By entering this Contest, each entrant agrees for entrant and for entrant’s heirs, executors, and administrators (a) to release and hold harmless Contest Entities and their respective officers, directors, agents, and employees (collectively, “Released Parties”) from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from such entrant’s participation in the Contest and/or his/her acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of the prize, or any portion thereof; (b) to indemnify Sponsors from any and all liability resulting or arising from the Contest and to hereby acknowledge that Sponsors have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to prizes, including express warranties provided exclusively by the prize supplier that are sent along with the prize; (c) if selected as a winner, to the posting of such entrant’s name on www.yourlatv.com and the use by Released Parties of such name, voice, image, and/or likeness for publicity, promotional, and advertising purposes without additional compensation, and, upon request, to the giving of consent, in writing, to such use; and (d) to be bound by these Official Rules and to waive any right to claim any ambiguity or error therein these Official rules or in the Contest itself, and to be bound by all decisions of the Sponsors, whose decisions are binding and final.  Failure to comply with these conditions may result in disqualification from the Contest.

ADDITIONAL TERMS: Sponsors reserve the right to terminate this Contest or permanently disqualify from any promotion any person they believe has intentionally violated these Official Rules.  Any attempt to deliberately damage the Contest or the operation thereof is unlawful and subject to legal action by Sponsors, who may seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.  Sponsors reserve the right in their sole discretion to cancel or modify the Contest should any computer virus, malfunction, or other cause beyond their control corrupt the administration, security, or proper operation of the Contest.  In the event of cancellation, prizes will be awarded from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to the event requiring cancellation.  Notice of cancellation will be posted at www.yourlatv.com.
 
The failure of Sponsors to comply with any provision of these Official Rules due to an act of God, hurricane, war, fire, riot, earthquake, terrorism, act of public enemies, actions of governmental authorities outside of the control of Sponsors (excepting compliance with applicable codes and regulations), or other force majeure event will not be considered a breach of these Official Rules.

Released Parties assume no responsibility for any injury or damage to entrants’ or to any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from entering or downloading materials or software in connection with the Contest. Released Parties are not responsible for telecommunications, network, electronic, technical, or computer failures of any kind; for inaccurate transcription of entry information; for errors in any promotional or marketing materials; for errors in these Official Rules; for any human or electronic error; or for entries that are stolen, misdirected, garbled, , lost, late, or damaged.

DISPUTES: THE CONTEST IS GOVERNED BY, AND WILL BE CONSTRUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH, THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, AND THE FORUM AND VENUE FOR ANY DISPUTE SHALL BE IN NEW YORK, NEW YORK. IF THE CONTROVERSY OR CLAIM IS NOT OTHERWISE RESOLVED THROUGH DIRECT DISCUSSIONS OR MEDIATION, IT SHALL THEN BE RESOLVED BY FINAL AND BINDING ARBITRATION ADMINISTERED BY JAMS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ITS STREAMLINED ARBITRATION RULES AND PROCEDURES OR SUBSEQUENT VERSIONS THEREOF (“JAMS RULES”).  THE JAMS RULES FOR SELECTION OF AN ARBITRATOR SHALL BE FOLLOWED, EXCEPT THAT THE ARBITRATOR SHALL BE EXPERIENCED AND LICENSED TO PRACTICE LAW IN NEW YORK.  THE REMEDY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL BE LIMITED TO ACTUAL DAMAGES, AND IN NO EVENT SHALL ANY PARTY BE ENTITLED TO RECOVER PUNITIVE, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING ATTORNEY’S FEES OR OTHER SUCH RELATED COSTS OF BRINGING A CLAIM, OR TO RESCIND THIS AGREEMENT OR SEEK INJUNCTIVE OR ANY OTHER EQUITABLE RELIEF.WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT: For the names of the winners, available after September 15, 2007, visit www.yourlatv.com, or send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to be received by October 27, 2007, to: Do London Like a Local Casting Call Contest, KNBC/NBC4, 3000 West Alameda Avenue, Burbank, CA 91523.
